Lanvin for H&M - Fall Winter 2010/2011 Full Fashion Advert (Exclusive)

Yup, it's another designer collaboration. This time, it's between Lanvin and H&M.

...the collection below (click on the images for a clearer view)...

Photos: H&M

I've thought of queuing up to buy some items from the collection...probably one of the best looking garments since Victor and Rolf (and yes, Karl Lagerfeld!). However, I have something to do that morning...and I will have to give it a miss since everyone knows how quickly these pieces will snap up!

I like this video as it shows different ages and body types, in a way that everyone can enjoy the collection.

Should I give myself a birthday treat by getting a pair of this stilettos?

Most of us may have heard of this news in February this year that Paris couturier Jean Paul Gaultier collaborates with Melissa to create this shoe... Another eco-concious product on the loose (and I'm liking it!).

I just saw this in a boutique while walking to my next destination a few hours ago and the question remains...should I get a pair of this shoe?

I was tempted to try them but was afraid that I would end up buying it straight-away (like I did without trying a pair of the Vivienne Westwood court shoes (the first range by again, Melissa).

The heels looked and felt sturdy but didn't know that as I didn't try them.

Oh yes, I saw this in caramel colour as well but I according to "Digital Dazed" (of "Dazed and Confused"), it comes in several colours such as beige, tangerine, lime and of course as pictured, black.

Alright, is it worth that getting the plastic (eco-friendly) pair of stilettos for the price to pay? :)

Photo shoot for an upcoming online project...

At the last moment last week, I got to participate in a photo shoot. In the photo shoot, organised by Sunny, Yun Ting, Mae and Brendan (the photographer), I had the chance to get one set of my garment from one of the recent project ('Resuscitation') to be part of the shoot. Here are some 'behind the scenes' pictures and video (I apologise for the quality of the video as it was taken from my phone and my video editing skills is nowhere near beginner's level!). This photo shoot is part of an upcoming project mainly set up by Sunny, Yun Ting and other collaborators involved, as well as to promote the gallery Osage Gallery (at Old School, Singapore). Also in this post are some close up of the Dr. Martens shoes that were customised by us for the last project (which hardly got any publicity (for the shoes).

More about the project in the upcoming months.

The video

Designed and customised (the boots) by Lee Yun-Ting

Designed and customised (the boots) by me

Designed and customised (the boots) by Sunny Lim

Designed and customised (the boots) by Mae Pang

Designed by Charlotte Wang (the customised boots were not available for shooting)

...and it was a great photo shoot!

Jimmy Choo for 'H and M'

Well, here we go, another collaboration! The title says it all! Hitting the store on 14th November, this Autumn, one might be able to afford something from Jimmy Choo. It has been said that it will feature shoes for both men and women, plus a collection of garments and bags. However, these range will be a little bit more exclusive as it will only be sold at 200 selected H&M outlets around the world. Judging from this photo, it looks rather promising...

Now ladies, we can afford to say "Hello Lovah!" like Miss Carrie Bradshaw at the window to a pair of Jimmy Choo!

Target Goes To McQueen (Part Four) - Updated with TV commercial!

Just two pictures from 'Los Angeles Times':

Article on: http://www.latimes.com/features/printedition/image/la-ig-mcqueen1-2009mar01,0,7902461.story

...and their commercial...

Trust me, I'm not a huge fan of Alexander McQueen and I understand that this news of the collaboration is probably getting too much...

Anyway, just posting the commercial I encountered.

Target Goes To McQueen (Part Three)

Remember a few months back, I mentioned about Alexander McQueen collaborating with Target?

A few days ago, McQ for Target opened a special pop-up store in Manhattan’s meatpacking district.

Part of the Ad campaign.

Target goes to McQueen! (Part 2)

There were some thoughts on how would this collaboration will go about...and what the clothes will look like.

Here are two photographs. Pictured below are the t-shirts in the collection.

Pictures from wwd.com

I think it's too early to judge...will wait and see what it will look like in Spring 2009.

Well, I guess it will be sold out as fast as the Comme des Garcon line for H&M!

Target goes to McQueen!

...and presenting another collaboration with...Target & Alexander McQueen!

Well, I wonder what it'll look like...I've been quite disappointed with collaborations lately like the one with Patricia Field with HSN/Marks and Spencers (yes, I've seen the garments here in Singapore and the price are rather...well no comments here! I must admit though, the workmanship is pretty good!). One of the collaboration I liked was with Vivienne Westwood and Melissa (and I got a pair of the courts shoes (in red) from a friend and it's really comfortable!).

The collection will be sold on Target.com and the retailer’s stores from March 1 through April 11 of next year, 2009.

From 'The Wall Street Journal' website:

"The line, named McQ Alexander McQueen for Target, will be inspired by British rock band The Duke Spirit and will be priced within the retailer’s cheap-chic price range."

Will the McQ line translate well into 'cheap-chic'? (Picture from Asos.com. (McQ)

Like Susie Bubble points out from her entry:

Formulates well doesn't it?

What were they thinking?: Patricia Field designs...

I have to admit, like many ladies out there, I like to watch Sex and the City. I admire the way Patricia Field is willing to take risks with styling the characters which inspired me (and perhaps some other ladies as well!) to dress up. I thought she did a perfect job for 'Devil Wears Prada' as well.

Her clothing range for HSN is a different story altogether.

"Dear Ms Field,

It was a bold risk to 'design' a collection for HSN which I comprehend that it's affordable. Now we are able to look like second rate versions of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte
.

Styling is your
forte and I look forward to see more of what you know best.

Thank you."

These...what I call second rate versions of SATC...

These...have potential but needs a little more design development...

The best overall look of the collection can be seen on Project Rungay's entry or HSN's offical website.

Featuring: Wallace and Gromit sports designer looks!

Yup, indeed, as the headline mentioned, Aardman's Wallace and Gromit are in designer wear...for the poster campaign for UK's Harvey Nichols. The campaign is to promote the opening for the branch in Bristol. The advertising campaign is created by DDB London with photography by Giles Revell.

Wallace is styled in Paul Smith while Gromit wears a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses and purple silk scarf by Duchamp

Lady
Tottington is styled in Alexander McQueen, Christian Louboutin (love the shoes!) and Zagliani.

Wallace is styled in Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana and Giorgio Armani while Gromit wears navy silk Paul Smith scarf.

Making of the Campaign

Now who would have thought they would sport a sharper look?

Everyone’s talking about H&M...

There are many other websites mentioning about the collaboration with H&M and Comme des Garcon since April.

Here is a little gist. This fall (November 2008), the Comme des Garcon line will join the list of past contributing collaborators such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Victor and Rolf. The Comme des Garcon collection will release to the public limited to certain cities.

I doubt I have to elaborate any further…as many other great websites have already mentioned about the arrival of the collection. Here are a few website to mention:

That's Chic:
Raych’s has her personal observations about the collection that contains the photos that has leaked out. http://thatschic.blogspot.com/2008/08/collaboration-between-h-and-cdg.html

Fastionista:
The sneak peek from ‘W’ magazine (issue will be out on the 19th of August (in the US) with comments from designer Rei Kawakubo. http://fashionista.com/2008/08/comme_for_hm_-_a_sneak_peak.php

Selectism.com:
The website provides better views (or for my case better loading time) of the garments. http://www.selectism.com/posts/archive/2008/august/15/comme_des_garcon_for_hm/index.htm

Respectfully Yours:
Some opinion about what is seen from the photo leaks of the H&M collection wondering: when looking at comme de garcons' fall 2008 ready-to-wear, i can't help but wonder - what happened?’ http://ryours.blogspot.com/2008/08/comme-de-garcons-for-h.html

Style Bubble:
Some comment and what outfit Susie has her eyes on. http://stylebubble.typepad.com/style_bubble/2008/08/you-go-away-for.html

What's my opinion?

I’m a little skeptical about this men’s wear outfit…is it just me or does this look like it came from a sleep wear set?

The styling element of this ensemble catches my eyes. At least the polka dots aren’t as dull as the men’s ensemble mentioned. Perhaps I like it because of the way the scarf is tied around the neck.

I have my eyes on these two jackets. I like the way the shapes and asymmetrical proportion is played around (left) and the placement of the zip (right). However I’m pretty sure I will not be able to get it since there is no H&M in Singapore. Oh well… wishful thinking! Ha ha!
